Let me start by saying, Episode 11 of My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me! really caught me off guard in the best way possible. I went in expecting the usual mix of Iroha’s teasing and Akiteru’s flustered reactions, but this episode had so much more heart than I anticipated.
First off, let’s talk about Iroha. Oh my goodness, that smile she gave when she decided to join the play? It wasn’t her usual teasing grin—it was genuine, warm, and actually made me go “aww” out loud. Like one commenter pointed out, it was probably the prettiest smile we’ve seen from her all season. She’s been such a tease up until now, so seeing that vulnerable side was refreshing. And don’t even get me started on her “acting masterclass”—the way she switched between playful and sincere had me hooked.
Midori’s character is still giving me mixed feelings, though. Sometimes she’s this cute, quirky side character that adds humor to the show, but other times her constant meddling feels a bit forced. One moment she’s pushing Akiteru and Iroha together, the next she’s being a total nuisance. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t decide if I love her or find her annoying. That being said, her interactions with the main characters do keep things interesting, so I guess she’s growing on me.
The play subplot was a nice touch. Iroha stepping up to take part in the school play was unexpected, but it made perfect sense for her character. She’s always been the center of attention, so why wouldn’t she jump at the chance to perform? I’m already looking forward to seeing her steal the show in the season finale—something tells me she’s going to bring that signature Iroha flair to the stage.
And can we talk about that ending? The “go watch the next episode” end card was such a tease! It left me on the edge of my seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. Is there going to be a big confession? Will Iroha’s true feelings finally come to light? Or is this all just part of her elaborate prank? Whatever it is, I’m definitely tuning in for the finale.
One thing that stood out to me was the way the episode balanced comedy and drama. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments—like Iroha’s classic “die” comment when Akiteru tried to get too close—but there were also some surprisingly heartfelt scenes. The conversation between Iroha and Akiteru about their fake relationship felt real and relatable, which is something I don’t always get from rom-coms.
I also noticed that Midori seems to be opening up to Akiteru more. At first, she was just this random girl who kept popping up, but now she’s showing a softer side. Could she be developing feelings for him? And what about Mashiro’s friend? Her reaction to the whole situation was a bit suspicious—maybe she’s going to cause some trouble in the final episode. A love triangle would definitely shake things up, but I’m not sure if that’s where the show is heading.
Overall, Episode 11 was a solid addition to the season. It had great character development, some funny moments, and enough cliffhangers to keep me invested. The animation was top-notch as usual, with vibrant colors and smooth movements that brought the characters to life. And let’s not forget that catchy OP—every time I hear it, I can’t help but sing along (even if I don’t know the words).
If I had to rate this episode, I’d give it an 8 out of 10. It wasn’t perfect—some parts felt a bit rushed, and Midori’s character still needs some work—but it was definitely entertaining. I’m excited to see how everything wraps up in the season finale. Will Akiteru and Iroha finally admit their feelings? Or will their fake relationship come crashing down? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—I’ll be watching.
So, what did you guys think? Did you love Iroha’s smile as much as I did? Are you team Midori or team Iroha? And what are your predictions for the finale? Let me know in the comments—I’m curious to hear your thoughts!
